Tour overview
Khuvsgul is Mongolia’s “Blue Pearl” — a vast, crystal-clear freshwater lake framed by forested hills and open northern skies. This 8-day journey blends spiritual heritage at one of Mongolia’s most beautiful monastery complexes with remote archaeological traces on the northern routes, before slowing down for several days by the lakeshore. Expect a wonderful balance of real distance travelled and unhurried time in nature: horseback riding, meaningful cultural encounters, and the kind of stillness that makes Mongolia feel infinite.
One evening, you’ll also experience a traditional Mongolian hot-stone barbecue dinner, Khorkhog — a memorable part of travelling through the countryside.

Day-by-day program
Day 1 — Amarbayasgalant Monastery: Mongolia’s great spiritual masterpiece
An early start takes you north to Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of Mongolia’s most impressive and beautifully situated Buddhist complexes. Built in 1737 and dedicated to the renowned Mongolian Buddhist leader and sculptor Zanabazar, the monastery carries a powerful sense of history — including the losses of the 1930s and the long restoration that followed. If timing allows, you’re welcome to observe the resident monks during their daily ceremonies, a quiet, moving introduction to Mongolia’s spiritual life.
